The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and China Association for Science and Technology recently implemented a campaign to help women, children and their families increase their scientific knowledge. Through various activities (including interviews of members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and lectures provided by scientists to help participants learn about science), the campaign is aimed at publicizing scientific knowledge and promoting scientific researchers' scientific spirit. The ceremony to launch the campaign was held in Beijing.
Tang Yuhua, deputy chief designer of the Chang'e-7 lunar probe, outlined China's experiences when conducting lunar-exploration projects during the past several decades. Meanwhile, Li Jing, Executive Vice-President of Beijing Women's Association for Science and Technology, shared her experiences in leading her team in helping women, children and their families' members increase their scientific knowledge. The women's speeches resonated with many participants.
Wang Zhizhen, a researcher with the Institute of Biophysics, under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is a member of CAS. Many viewers were impressed by her deep commitment to scientific research. She also shared her experiences gained while participating in various activities, to help increase residents' scientific knowledge. She has encouraged more women scientists to participate in such activities.
Women scientific and technological workers, women volunteers and cadres with ACWF called on women, children and their families to study scientific knowledge, so they can play greater roles in scientific and technological innovation.
